The local loon who makes it happen..

If you’ve been to an event in Cheadle before no doubt it was Natalie’s. What started as an afternoon for the family at Halloween on the Green, grew into all sorts of shindigs over the years. While the first Picnic in the Park was a dream come true, the few hundred grew into thousands over the years and it will always be happy memories for many. Anyone who attended Cinema on the Green will also know it was probably the coolest thing to hit Cheadle since sliced barms!

 

Once lockdown life made all that impossible, what was wonderful about the time in smaller groups were the opportunities for a more special event. Sometimes simple works like magic, the whole shabang is not always needed.. but just maybe you always thought.. Oo if I could have my own party in the park it would be like: ........................................................................................................................................................................................................................

I’ll let you in on something you may not know about Natalie.. not only was simply seeing The Makers Market on the green such an inspiration in itself, when it first started she was too socially anxious to even leave the house!! She only joined the Cheadle Civic Society as her lovely friend man handled her and made her speak to the chairman and share a few of her ideas.. and the rest is history! Or as the chairman would say, ‘Folklore’

 

Getting involved with Cheadle-Get-Connected was inspired by her love of events and her empathy and understanding for those more disconnected individuals, the ones who were also in need of inspiration, or just simply something to do!

 

The break away led to the realisation that burnout always came and she was starting to serve from an empty cup. Also, the people pleasing, she didn’t want that, not to be rude to others, for she became wise enough to know she wasn’t for everybody, once even known to resemble some kind of marmite..

Yet what she did realise was while there were those who thought she was a loon, they were right, she was! Through being more herself and unashamed of that, she realised how much she was valued by those she cared for, those she’d worked with and come across on her path. She has big ideas, barmy as can be, but one things for sure, she’s real, authentic and true to her word. Dam she’ll even stop the rain if she told you she would, but most of all she will go above and beyond to make your day as magical as possible.
